COVER STORY: Gia Skova attached to lead upcoming feature project ‘Breakfast at Nobu’

Actress Gia Skova is attached to star in the upcoming feature project ‘Breakfast at Nobu’, currently in development and set to be officially introduced during Cannes this May. Described by the creators as a contemporary cinematic drama inspired by themes of glamour, identity and emotional isolation within modern Los Angeles, the project is envisioned as a stylish exploration of ambition, reinvention and longing set against the backdrop of the city’s luxury culture and shifting social landscape.

Screenwriter Timothy Hayes is attached to the project and describes ‘Breakfast at Nobu’ as “a story about a woman trying to create a permanent sanctuary for herself in a world where everything, including identity, feels temporary.”

According to the creative team, the film draws inspiration from timeless Hollywood elegance while reinterpreting those emotional themes through a contemporary lens. The creators also confirmed that the Cannes Film Festival will serve as the platform for the project’s first official industry introduction, where the concept, creative direction and development stage of the film will be presented publicly for the first time.

“Breakfast at Nobu isn’t really about celebrity or luxury,” says Hayes. “It’s about a woman trying to create a permanent sanctuary for herself in a world where everything, including identity, feels temporary, perpetually evasive.”

He further describes the cinematic atmosphere of the film as “hypnotic and sun-drenched — seductive on the surface, but quietly aching underneath,” combining “dreamlike California glamour” with themes of loneliness, performance and emotional transformation.

Gia Skova, known for her work across international film and fashion projects, is attached to star in the lead role, with the production team currently developing the project ahead of future festival positioning and production stages.
